21 Days -20 Nights Sri Lanka Tour Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Airport – Negombo
At the arrival of Colombo Bandaranaike International airport where you will be welcomed by our representative or tour guide and transferred to hotel in Negombo.
Negombo town has a long history of tourism and a wide beach and also tempts the visitor with Dutch canal boat tours, a colorful fish market, and lively bars after dark. The beach is a great place to stroll in the evenings and holidays, and enjoy dining at one of the many and varied restaurants.

Day 02:Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage
Breakfast at the hotel and leave for Anuradhapura. En-route takes a short break and visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.
Elephant orphanage is an institution that has been looking after orphaned or injured elephants that would otherwise have surely died. Then you can watch the elephants bath in the river after the youngest babies are milk fed. The orphanage was established to feed, nurse and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Then travel to Anuradhapura.

Day 03: Ancient City of Anuradhapura – Jaffna

After breakfast leave to visit Anuradhapura cultural sites.
Anuradhapura is Sri Lanka’s most extensive and important ancient city; ruled by Sinhalese kings for over 2,500 years as the country’s first capital. The set of ruins is now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Among the other tourist attractions at Anuradhapura are magnificent rock carvings of monumental richness and remarkable grace; colossal stone pillars that stand proud amidst the ruins of royal palaces, buddhist monasteries and temples; magnificent stone cut swimming pools of sophisticated hydrology. Then travel to Jaffna.

Day 04, 05:War Ruins in Jaffna
City of Jaffna is the capital city of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Since the 1980s insurgent uprising, military occupation, extensive damage, expulsion and depopulation has happened. Jaffna was occupied by the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE) in 1986. Jaffna Nallur Kovil, Jaffna Library, Jaffna Fort, Point Pedro, Dambakola Patuna & Nagadeepa Island are must visit places in the Jaffna Peninsula.
This special tour is arranged in Northern and Eastern beach areas. North & East province in Sri Lanka remained under the civil war for nearly 30 years. After the war Sri Lankan government has developed these areas & built up lot of beautiful hotels along the beach. Therefore, you can enjoy your vacation, relax and watch bit deferent Sri Lankan culture during your vacation. Even you can see some war ruins as well.

Day 06, 07 08 : Leisure at Nilaveli & Trinco Beach
Breakfast at the hotel and visit the Pigeon Island and go for whale – watching and visit the beautiful coral, ornamental fish collection and scuba diving and you will have more activities in Trincomalee beach.
All water sports are available here including fishing and sea angling. Whales-watching is a specialty. With crystal clear blue water and white beaches, Nilaveli beach is a very popular destination amongst sun worshippers. From here the visitor can also discover hot water springs, the fifth largest natural harbor in the world at Trincomalee and numerous revered Buddhist and Hindu temples.

Day 09 : Polonnaruwa Cultural Site
After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa and visit the cultural sites.
Polonnaruwa was the island’s second ancient capital. Today, the well preserved ruins give you the chance to experience the grandeur of this period and marvel at the artistry of the island’s early craftsmen. At the heart of the ancient city are the remains of the royal palace, council chamber & many distinctly South Indian style Hindu temples.

Day 10: Minneriya National Park – Elephant Back Safari
Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Habarana. En-route you will enjoy a full day jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park looking for elephants, deer, peacocks, boars, and many kinds of birds circling the beautiful Minneriya Tank. You may see herds of elephants at the tank & you have a great photographic chance. The green surroundings are strikingly different to the arid landscape.
Then travel to Sigiriya and you will have an elephant back safari.

Day 11: Sigiriya Rock Fortress – Hiriwadunna Lake
Breakfast at the hotel and leave for climbing to Sigiriya rock fortress.
One of the Sri Lanka’s most fascinating UNESCO World Heritage sites. No matter how often you climb to the summit of this one-time hilltop fortress of the maverick Sinhalese King Kassapa; the pleasure barely diminishes because of the abandon spectacular views at the summit. The most intriguing and popular World Heritage site is Sigiriya, dubbed “the eighth wonder of the world”, a stupendous rock on which a patricidal king built a magnificent palace.
And also you may have a chance to experience adventure events in Hiriwadunna Lake.

Day 12: Golden Rock Temple – Temple of the Tooth – Traditional Dances

After breakfast check-out from the hotel and leave for Kandy. En-route, visit a Dambulla Cave temple.
Dates back to the 1st century BC. Its rock ceiling is one large sweep of colorful frescoes. Some of them are over 2000 years old. The caves house the largest collection of Buddha statues in one place. Like Sigiriya, Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass. Within the cave temple is the collection of the largest number of Buddha statues in one place.
Then travel to Kandy. On the way visit a spice garden. In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth the last seat of the Sinhala kings, is a very popular destination for visitors from home and abroad. Experiencing the pulsating drum rhythms and colorful traditional dances at a cultural show is another great opportunity.

Day 13: Botanical Garden –Tea Plantation & Factory – Ramboda Waterfall – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast leave for visit Peradeniya Botanical garden.
The Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya is well known for its large variety of faunal life. The great lawns highlight huge tropical trees and a variety of bamboo can be found in one place. The Royal Botanic Gardens was established in 1821.
Then travel to Nuwara Eliya. En-route, visit a tea factory, tea plantations and Ramboda waterfall.
The 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, like every other waterfall it is located in the hill country. It is ideal for a family vacation, surrounding it are a lot of holiday resorts that cater to your every need. Sri Lanka being famous for its “Ceylon Tea” has added cheer to many the world over for more than a century. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh wintry atmosphere, the cottage type bungalows and the colonial air. Nuwara Eliya is also known as “Little England”.

Day 14: Horton Plains – Golf Course

Horton Plains is a unique natural attraction in Sri Lanka. It is located in the highest plateau of the country and it is known for its beautiful landscapes and rare plant and animal life. The vegetation mainly consists of wet grasslands and montane forest. The weather at Horton Plains is quite dynamic.
Lies in the heart of the hilly tea country which offers a salubrious climate and breathtaking scenery. The course looks so challenging that a golfer usually succumbs to its allure and prefer golfing to sightseeing.

Day 15:Tea Plantation & Factory – Ramboda Waterfall – White Water Rafting & Canoeing – Kitulagala

After breakfast leave for Yala. En-route you will have a train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella and visit the Ella gap and Ravana waterfall.
Ravana Ella, the rock and the spectacle of the wondrous Ella gap surpasses all other places in sheer, spectacular scenic beauty in Sri Lanka. It was named so, after the epic of Ramayana. The cave behind the waterfall is one of the places that Ravana hid princess Sita after abducting her from India. Although it is comparatively shorter than most waterfalls, it has a wide flow of water and is quite beautiful to look at.

Day 16: Yala National Park
After breakfast, early in the morning you will go for a full day Safari at Yala; one of the island’s most popular wildlife parks where you could see all most all the animals found in Sri Lanka. Yala National Park one of Sri Lanka’s premier eco tourist destinations and is renowned for its variety of wildlife notably its many elephants. It is also home to the spotted deer, sambar, wild buffalo, sloth bear, jackal, mongoose and crocodiles. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds in this park. Yala has a high concentration of leopards although seeing these nocturnal carnivores still requires some luck.

Day 17: Gem Mine – Sinharaja Rain Forest

After breakfast you will travel visit the Rathnapura gem mine.
Abundant in lustrous gems that echo the exotic hues of paradise itself, Sri Lanka is renowned as ‘Ratnadweepa’ or the ‘Island of Gems’. Then travel to Sinharaja and visit the rain forest. Studies on the flora and fauna of Sinharaja have revealed that there is a high degree of endemism among the butterflies, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals are greater than 50%. The most common deer species is the sambhur, the monk deer and barking deer are also found within the reserve. Leopards are very seldom sighted, but their frequent presence has been confirmed by tracks and other signs.

Day 18:Galle Dutch Fort – Turtle Hatchery

After breakfast you will check- out from the hotel and drive to Bentota. En-route visit Galle Fort and a turtle hatchery.
The 17th century Dutch Fort at Galle; closed to the island’s southernmost point has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. Enter through the imposing stone bastions that encircle the sea- facing promontory and step back in time. Inside the fort you will find that it exudes old-world charm. The narrow streets are dotted with Dutch colonial villas and there’s a welcome absence of vehicular traffic.

Day 19,20 :Dolphin & Whale Watching – Leisure at the Bentota Beach

Day 21:Colombo – Airport
Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Colombo. Then, you will have a Colombo city tour.
Colombo- the capital of Sri Lanka is the largest city and main port of Sri Lanka. It is also the commercial and financial center of Sri Lanka. A bustling metropolis, the city is an attractive blend of old and new. It has the lazy charm of the bygone era combined with the verve and vivaciousness of a modern city.
